Dual purpose shelf

Y'all have seen these all over blog land. I thought it would make for an easy project on a lazy afternoon.

Take a shelf - which I've had for years and 3 equal size containers - these were recycled from my daughters hair products. They cleaned up nice and the labels came of easily. All of the ones I've seen done in blog land have used mason jars or other types of glass. I have a 2 yr old, that wasn't happening.

(Ignore the 1970 color of my countertops) turn the shelf over and line up the 3 lids equal distances apart. take small screws and screw them into the shelf.

attach your jars. I actually like these better than glass because they are frosted but you can still see thru them

Hang your shelf

I filled mine with things guest usually ask for. Q-tips, band aids, and cotton balls.

What a great storage solution for a bathroom, if you're short on it. Nice job!

Now that's a great idea! I remember seeing this idea long ago using glass baby food jars, but now that those are extinct, this is a great alternative!

Hi!

I love this idea and have ideas whooshing into my head where this would come in handy in other areas!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me. And I think you and I would make a great junkin' team! :>)

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Very clever! I've seen this before, but the plastic is perfect for younger children. Looks great!

Love it! This is so simple I'm almost insulted I didn't think of it first. I have a bunch of bouillon cube jars and I think I will put them to use doing this.

Thanks for sharing and the warm memory. My father when I was quite young had jars attached under the shelves just like these. I always thought it was such a great idea but seeing your's I see they can be done in the home and look 'great'.
Thank you for sharing and have a GRAND weekend.

Well, I think I'm the last one on earth to not make one of those. I need to get with it!! I've long admired them.

Thanks for the encouragement and linking yours up!
