Serving Tray turned Decor meets Garage Sale Dresser

Okay...Let's face it...I'm never going to have one of *those husbands (ok, maybe hubby #3 or 4, but not the current one)that would actually come up with the idea (by himself) to serve me breakfast in bed and it certainly would not occur to him to use my nice **BiB serving tray so I've decided to repurpose it.

* and ladies if you are one that has a thoughtful, caring, semi-emotional man that serves you BiB and uses your good tray - KEEP THAT CRAP TO YOURSELF - I'd like to think all of you in blogland share my pain.

**Breakfast in Bed

This is my $1 BiB tray and my $5 garage sale dresser. Seein how I bought them at the same garage sale I'm sure they've met already but I'm fixin to reintroduce them later.

I got bold with my color selection and actually bought Krylons metallic line - this color is that funky Christmas ball color - the name slips my mind and it's too cold to run to the garage to look at the can.

After she dried - literally in like 5 mins (LOVES KRYLON) I got out some vinyl letters and somehow - by the Grace of God - got them centered and even - somewhat. I think the "Y" is a little high but I left if cause, let's face it...No "family" is perfect, right?

Then after I sanded and painted the dresser I decided that the 1976 Brass weapons they called "dresser pulls" were too ugly and so I sprayed them with the same color paint as the tray. Bad picture but you get the point.

Once I got it all together I introduced the tray back to the dresser.

The tray now lives in harmony on what my husband has declared a "clutter hider" and has warned me the next piece I get to rehab better be sold when I am done..HMPF!

Please don't worry - the only thing being replaced in the near future are the dresser pulls - on backorder. The husband is safe and is actually a keeper. After 13 yrs it would be useless to train another one to do at least some of what he does romantically do, I mean It's not like I had to save the flowers he got me for my very 1st Mother's Day in 2007 because I wasn't sure when I'd get flowers again or anything like that, ahem...they did dry out, very well, and make beautiful decor!

love it! my husband would NEVER do breakfast in bed for me. Mostly because Im always up before him with the baby. Now if he would get the baby and let me sleep all would be forgiven!! *a girl can wish!*

Again, girl, I'm sittin' here cracking up over your post. You and I have the same humor, methinks.

LOVE that tray, and it totally looks fabulous with the 'y' as is....meant to be, just like the relationship it now has with the dresser...meant to be. Super cute...

Great idea and wonderful makeover, but I have to say the best part to coming by is reading your posts. You write with such humor☺

How smart & pretty! I love that the "y" is not quite right, sometimes the imperfections make things perfect.

That's a great color - you're gonna have to confess the real name soon!

Oh... and I'll keep my super sweet Mr. SCC secrets to myself, hehe!

Great job--My hubby and kids won't let me get out of bed on Mother's Day till I have had breakfast in bed.

Now the other day I was on the phone with someone trying to figure some problem out with an account. I said "I know you can't live with them but you can't live without them". My hubby had just walked in and he said "what husbands". I said "No computers".
