Will work for cute framed corkboard

Sooooo I go snooping around blogs today after Reading some comments left on my dual purpose shelf post and i ran into Lissa@ my thrifty treasures and boy did she have a cute treasure! So cute I had to steal it got inspired by it and made one of my own.
This is my $5 framed board from walmart (they totally irritated me today during Black Friday so they don't get their name capitalized)

Here is my $2 Garage sale picture. LOVE the color and that it is already distressed.

I de-framed my walmart board and took the cork out, dismantled the picture from the frame and cut the cork to fit inside the frame. This one is an 14x17

I took some scraps I had and stapled it all around the cork

Pull tight while you go to get a nice front.

Stick it in the frame and secure it

again, inspired by Lissa I made a bow and even ripped a button off of my husbands winter suit - we are in FL he'll never know, not like he's wearing it anytime soon. I hotglued the bow to the frame then hot glued the button to the bow

Then my favorite piece! I drilled a hole into the bottom and took a 1970's piece of hardware from a flopped project I attempted to put together - total flop! Now my piece is beginning to look like and old door.

For the hanger I took scrap material and rolled it then twisted it and stapled it to the back of the frame

Now it's back in my office where is was once just an ugly cork board.

Thanks Lissa!
